Trove is a Free MMO Type Online Game with a similar style to Minecraft. Anyone can play it for free on a PC or Mac using a program called Glyph.
“Grab your friends, hone your blades, and set off for adventure in the ultimate voxel MMO. Whether hunting treasure in far-off lands or building realms of your own, it’s never been this good to be square!”

If you prefer games where you can do whatever you want, wherever you want, Trove is it. If you prefer games with simple graphics, Trove is it. Even if you don’t think you’ll like Trove, I ask you to try it out because I was pleasantly surprised to find myself addicted to it. These were my thoughts as I tried it out for the first time.
My First Thoughts
This game is different. Let’s see if I can figure it all out. There are a lot of buttons to remember. Oh good it tells me what to do. … Well I don’t know if I’ll keep playing this game, it’s pretty simple … Oh now I get it, still don’t think I’d play it again though … Wait, has it really been an HOUR?
This is a simplification of my thoughts but it’s true. I wasn’t sure about it at first because it has such simple graphics but I found myself still playing after an hour because I liked figuring it out and getting better at it. I figured it was too simple for me because I was beating all the bad guys, until I wasn’t. Suddenly it had gotten harder.
This is what the screen looks like while playing Trove. As you can see there are other players around. Watching them play can actually give you ideas. The box in the top right is teaching me how to play. It gives me tasks and then I earn cubits (in game money) by doing them and then it gives me more tasks. Like most games today, you can use real money to buy extras but you don’t have to. My character is the blue looking person standing on the yellow ground.
You can customize your character by choosing what class it belongs to and changing hair, eye colour and similar things. You move using the mouse to change your view and the keyboard keys AWD and S to move. So you use both hands to play Trove. You can go to dungeons and fight bad guys, dig for ore and other valuables or build your house. There is so much more that I don’t know how to do yet but I look forward to figuring it out!
Try The Game
You can Download the game for free and then after you’ve played it, come back and tell me what you think!
