Gobblet

Ages 7 to Adult

Gobblet is THE game for strategists like me. It’s like Tic-Tac-Toe with a whole new dimension. The goal is to line up your pieces, four in a row and you can place a piece on any space on your turn. You can even gobble-up the other team’s piece, as long as it’s smaller than yours. There are four sizes of pieces so the biggest size could gobble up any of the three smaller sizes, the second biggest could gobble up two, while the third biggest can only gobble up the smallest one.
The game also requires skills in memory as once a piece is gobbled up, you can no longer see it. However you want to remember if it is there because if you pick up one of your pieces and reveal an opponents piece underneath you forgot about, it might just give the other player an advantage, or worse, let them automatically win!
It’s worth noting that this type of game is not for everyone. It says ages 7 to adult but my 6 year old is very good at this game and my 16 year old niece is really bad. I really like it but finding someone to play with me is tough because I always seem to win! All the game pieces fit inside the wooden box that doubles as the board which is nice. No fumbling with cardboard boxes that bend and rip with use. This game will last a long time.
This video from the Blue Orange Website shows how to play.
This game makes a great gift for the strategy or memory game lover in your life. Or buy it for yourself, as a treat!
